Olivia Lindberg is a Twin Cities based director, designer, educator, and advocate. She is passionate and committed to the arts with a desire to tell stories that motivate change and compassion for others.  She has special interests in children’s issues, civil rights and social action, equity and inclusion, and education as a tool for making change.  Olivia approaches life and areas of interest with deep thoughtfulness, ferocity, and imagination and is always looking for opportunities to take concrete steps to serve and uplift the diversity and uniqueness of the stories and lived experiences of those around her: making a lasting and positive impact in her community. During her time at Nebraska Wesleyan University, she was fortunate to be on the creative team of 35+ productions, as well as participate in internships through Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, the Lincoln Arts Council, ICCM Life Center Minneapolis, and River Valley Church. In 2020, as the COVID-19 Pandemic forced the theatre industry to grow quiet, Olivia shifted her focus to supporting nonprofits, where she fostered a love for volunteer training, mentoring, and client/participant affirming program management through her roles at JSAW/Help Boardshop, Community Emergency Services, the ICCM Life Center, The Brand Lab, and other nonprofit collaborations. Her commitment to empower those around her through the creative process to do their best work fueled her passion to see volunteers and those being served reach their fullest potential. In 2023, Olivia left the nonprofit sector to pursue directing and creative placemaking full time.

Due to the collaborative nature of theatre, as well as her collaborative directing style, Olivia firmly believes anyone in a leadership role in the arts is most effective when they have been exposed to as many positions and mediums as possible. She is experienced in dramaturgical research, stage management, directing, costume design, construction, and management, light hanging, basic electrical and plumbing work, carpentry and scenic painting, box office and house management, fundraising, grant writing, project management, interacting with internal and external stakeholders, issue identification, presenting information effectively in oral and written formats to a variety of audiences and media platforms, and creating engaging fundraising and volunteer events for nonprofits and universities.

Olivia holds a BFA in Directing from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She is the Executive Director of Common Creators - a collaborative arts nonprofit in the Twin Cities area.
